Out of the box research on neurodegeneration

Scuola Normale Superiore

Sala Azzurra

December 3rd 2018

Despite decades of mainstream research, we still don’t have a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and other dementias. This informal meeting intends to foster and promote “out of the box” science discussions in this field. The first workshop of this series focuses on non-canonical functions of factors involved in neurodegeneration (download poster).

Main Topics of interest:

– Protein aggregation and misfolding in the cell

– Non canonical Tau functions

– αSynuclein in the Enteric Nervous System

– Aβ conformational antibodies

– New mechanistic and therapeutic approaches
